Libraries of Tomorrow
I am an educator in a very exciting time. Things are changing rapidly in educational settings today and technology plays a big role in many of these changes. My own school district has established a learning group to take a closer look at our current school libraries. One of our major goals is to create a framework that can be used in the near future to help our schools (and all of the people who work and learn in them) transition to a Library Learning Commons model. I was lucky enough to receive a spot on this learning group team and I am excited to see where this new endeavour takes me. Watch this video clip for more information about the way in which our libraries are changing.
We Are Getting There
At our most recent L.O.T (Libraries of Tomorrow) committee meeting, we watched a video that was created by educators in B.C. to inform audiences about what a Library Learning Commons could (and should) look like. This video was inspiring to the committee members because it not only informs us about this important shift in the learning 'hub' of schools, but it also encourages us to find engaging ways to get our message out there to our communities of learners. We are in the final drafting stages of the policy and regulations right now and will be sharing our work soon with the district and various stakeholders.
