Interested in trying out e-portfolios?
E-portfolios are a popular method of assessment used by many educators. There are programs such as Fresh Grade that cater specifically to this assessment method, allowing both students and teachers access to the e-portfolio to contribute, reflect and provide constructive feedback in a shared digital space.
Fresh Grade:
There are many advantageous things about Fresh Grade and it has become quite a popular option for educators. This environment serves as a grade book, but it also allows students, teachers and parents access to the students' e-portfolios. The system is user friendly and students are able to add in their own contributions to the e-portfolio as the school year unfolds. For more information about Fresh Grade, follow the link here.

Weebly for Students:
Another exciting option for students and teachers is the student account feature provided by Weebly. As many educators choose to use Weebly to create their own class websites, this is a very valuable feature to extend to our learners. Many teachers are already familiar with the web design format and can use their own knowledge to teach their students how to navigate the site and create their own websites. If the true goal of the e-portfolio is rich and authentic assessment, I think that the student Weebly website option has many affordances that make it my preferred e-portfolio platform at this time. Not only are the students learning critical technological skills, they are also building dynamic digital resources that can demonstrate their growth, understanding, and personal reflections just as effectively as a product like Fresh Grade.
